“What an amazing experience! I don’t think we have ever been on a tour with someone at such a personal level. It really gave us an opportunity to connect with the culture while experiencing such a wonderful atmosphere! If nature is what you’re interested in, then this is a trip you would love to book; exploring rich green forests to a beautiful swampy boardwalk and a white sandy beach, Roland has so much knowledge and passion for nature. The variety of scenery he showed us was absolutely breathtaking. Highly recommended!”

Sunset at Kemeri National Park

5.Sunset at Kemeri National Park

★★★★★★★★★★5.0 · 38 reviews · 4 hours (approx.) · from $77

Leave Riga with a small group and English-speaking guide Krista, Janis, or another Latvian Gem guide. Walk Kemeri’s raised bog boardwalk to a viewing tower, then stop at Jurmala Beach and its pedestrian street. The outing lasts about four hours and includes transport, guiding, and park admission.

“Of course it depends on what time of year you visit, but with summer sunset at 22:20, this was a late tour but worth it. The sunset itself was okay, but Kemeri park and bog walk were great! The boardwalk is well-maintained and sturdy. Not quite wide enough for two people to walk side-by-side, but not so narrow that you feel unsafe. Because of the distance from Riga, not many people take this tour, but that just makes it so incredibly peaceful and serene.”

Kemeri National Park Bog Trail near Riga

6.Kemeri National Park Bog Trail near Riga

★★★★★★★★★★4.9 · 37 reviews · 4 hours · from $88

Armands of Armands Latvia Guide takes you from your Riga or Jurmala hotel to Kemeri National Park, where you walk a raised boardwalk through pine bogs, pools, cranberry bushes, and moss. You’ll climb an 8-meter viewing tower, visit the old Kemeri resort area, and feel the sea air in Jurmala. The tour lasts four hours and runs in English or Russian.

“We had a great morning visiting the bog trails and the Jūrmala beach! The snow made it a magical experience and we were one of the only ones at Kemeru, which made it even more peaceful. The frozen beach was a unique experience and definitely a memory we will keep with us forever! Definitely recommend visiting even when you are in Riga during the winter months! Do make sure to dress warmly because it can get cold, especially if it is windy.”
